I recently started a Facebook group for Atlanta Home/DIY bloggers, dedicated to scheduling events and meetups, sharing advice, and just connecting with each other in general. We have over 40 members already, and Friday was our first meet-up. A few of us met for a blogger meetup of lunch and shopping at the Ballard Designs Outlet in Roswell, GA. We had so much fun!

Here we are outside the Ballard Outlet. Pictured above are: Lisa (Lula Bell’s Daughter), Jennifer (Two Creative Mommas), Kelly (View Along the Way), Sheila (Plum Doodles), me (holding Rhoda’s lamp), Donna (My Sweet Things) and Rhoda (Southern Hospitality).
I loved the Ballard Outlet, but I walked away empty-handed. I had my eye on a few mirrors, but several of them were chipped or damaged. Most items here are customer returns, so many of them have minor imperfections, but they are deeply discounted. And some of the stuff is brand new in the package. It’s a great place to hunt for bargains, but it is hit or miss. Although I didn’t find any bargains on this particular day, Rhoda did! And oh my goodness, it was the bargain of the century. She found an amazing $400.00 chandelier accidentally marked down to $32.00. The salesman assured her it was a mistake and he’d have to check with the manager, because there was no way he could sell it to her for that price. After some pressure from 7 thrifty bargain-hunting bloggers, the manager said that he would in fact honor the price. Oh, but the chandliers were 75% off, so she got it for a whopping $8.00!! Can you believe that? Check out her blog to see photos and hear more about her recent thrifty finds. We were all amazed.
Overall, we had a great time and I can’t wait until next month when we have another meet-up!
