I was so excited to play around with these new Mod Podge Mod Melts and Molds recently, and today I am going to share an easy and inexpensive project you can do with them. I chose to make an Embellished vase using the pretty flower molds.
What you’ll need:
- Mod Podge Mod Melts (I used Beach Glass Clear)
- Mod Podge Mod Molds
- High Temp Glue Gun
- Inexpensive vase
- Mod Podge Podgeable papers (optional)
- Mod Podge and sponge brush (optional)
- Acrylic paint (I used Plaid folkArt paint in Sky Blue)
- Paint Dauber
First, I decided to add a pretty patterned detail to the bottom of my vase using Mod Podge and Podgeable paper. Simply trace the bottom of your vase onto the paper, then use a sponge brush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the bottom of your vase.
Apply your paper face-up so you will see it when looking down into your vase. Apply another thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of it to seal it.
Now, for the Mod Melts and Molds. Insert a stick of Mod Melts into your glue gun. Starting at the center of each mold, carefully and slowly fill it. Use a small toothpick or the tip of your glue gun to spread the Mod Melt into corners or crevices if necessary.
Allow to dry for 10 minutes, then carefully pop the Mod Melts out of the mold. Paint with acrylic paint and allow to dry, then use hot glue or more Mod Melt to apply the flowers to your vase.
I used a cascading pattern but you can have fun with it and play around with different designs.
That’s it! So easy and fun. I can think of so many things you could do with these Mod Melts. They’re very easy to work with and a project like this doesn’t take long to complete. Check out the links below to see what other bloggers are doing with this product. There are so many possibilities!
