If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed that the past couple of weeks have been insanely busy. After working on the Dwell with Dignity project for about two weeks, we finished up the install and followed it up with a fun wrap party at Peacock Alley at ADAC here in Atlanta.
Here I am with designer Brian Patrick Flynn:
And a small group of my fellow Atlanta bloggers (Rhoda, Melanie, Kim and Kelley):
And here I am on the “red carpet” with Kerry Howard, Christina Morris (from KMH Interiors), and Brian Patrick Flynn:
And having way too much fun in the photo booth:
(Kim, Julie, Kelley, Melanie, Kristin Stockdale, and Rhoda)
Immediately following the wrap party, I headed to the Design Bloggers Conference. I was excited to have won the Hansgrohe scholarship which enabled me to attend this event. The days were packed with inspiration and informative sessions and the evenings were filled with receptions and after parties. And look at the gorgeous stage furnished by Currey and Company!
On Monday I was chosen by HomeAdvisor to attend a small dinner with Alison Victoria from HGTV’s Kitchen Crashers at Southern Art & Bourbon Bar located in the Buckhead Intercontinental Hotel here in Atlanta. First of all, the food was ridiculously good. Alison was very friendly and I enjoyed hearing about how she got into the business and what goes on behind the scenes. (Excuse the grainy Instagram pic.)
On Tuesday, I was super excited to hear Candice Olson speak since she has always been one of my HGTV favorites. I love her style and ability to drastically transform a space from plain and boring to breathtakingly gorgeous.
Dwell with Dignity also gave a presentation about our Atlanta installation and showed the reveal video. I was honored to be a part of it.
Tuesday night I attended an after party at the Kravet showroom hosted by Kravet and HGTV Magazine. I met Candice and made my mom eternally jealous.
On Wednesday I attended Digital Day at ADAC and heard a great presentation on photo styling by Stacy Kunstel, followed by an energetic talk by Brian Patrick Flynn about his approach to design. He is beyond entertaining and I am happy to have gotten to know him through Dwell with Dignity. I followed it up with the Peacock Alley Grand Opening party with my friend Rhoda.
Take a look at the amazing bed-shaped cake they had. I couldn’t believe this was edible! It was gorgeous.
The week was informative, fun, and exhausting. I’m happy to be back home hanging out with my boys and lounging in my sweat pants. The event was so action-packed, I could go on and on. So my question for you is, what do you want to know? Anything specific you’d like to hear about it? I don’t want to bore you with details! Let me know.

Would love to hear more of what BPF & Candice Olson talked about! Looks like you had so much fun! It was such an honor working on the DWD project ( the little bit I did! ) and I cannot wait until the big thrifting trip and the next deserving family’s project. So glad to be a part of the Atlanta Bloggers’Group and to meet you!

Thanks so much for your help, Melanie! So glad to have you in the group. I will probably talk more about it on the blog soon, but BPF talked about his approach to design and how “beige sucks” (in his words). 🙂 He discussed his partnership with Scripps Network and Hayneedle and the design work he does for them. He talks really fast and is full of energy.
Candice showed all sorts of before and after pics of her projects which were just amazing. She also talked about how contrast and lighting are key in good design, whether it be contrast of color/pattern/etc. She uses lighting as a major part of the design and she likes halogen lights. She likes to make sure she illuminates something specific rather than just having a light shine on nothing. Very interesting to hear about!
