I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for Fall. We had a relatively mild summer by Atlanta standards, but I feel like some of the recent weeks have more than made up for it with the scorching heat. I’ve decided to start embracing Fall in our home despite the fact that it still feels very much like summer outside. One way I’ve done this is by transitioning our Summer Chalkboard into a Fall Chalkboard.
While I was doing this, I realized that I never even showed you my summertime message. (I’m no artist, so please don’t judge!):
My summer chalkboard was inspired by something that Daune from Cottage in the Oaks posted on Instagram and I totally copied it. Luckily Daune is really sweet and I knew she wouldn’t mind.
I’m not sure if you remember but I built this chalkboard a few months ago (you can find the tutorial here), and it was a fun little addition to our office/living room. I love that it’s such an easy way to personalize the space and that we can change the message with the seasons.
After working on changing my chalkboard art, I headed off to pick Aiden up from school and came face to face with this little lady as I drove down our driveway.
I backed up, ran inside and grabbed my camera, then drove back down the driveway to snap pics as I passed by. She stopped to pose and didn’t seem to mind at all. We see deer pretty often at our house, but they usually run away pretty quickly and I always miss the photo op. She inspired me to add the antlers to the chalkboard.
What type of wildlife hangs around your home? Are you decorating for Fall at your house? Or still clinging to the last moments of Summer?
