The holidays are quickly approaching and I’m still trying to figure out what to buy for our boys. They seem to change their mind all the time about what they want, and when I take them shopping they just want everything they see. I decided to scope out some of the toys at Target to see if I could gather some gift-giving inspiration for the kiddos in my life. (P.S. There’s a giveaway at the end of this post! Easy entry too.)
I snapped a few Instagram photos while I was there, and I decided to compile a little list of my top 3 favorite gift ideas for my boys that I spotted in-store. I even picked up one of the items on my list while I was there.
My boys (ages 3 and 5) have been obsessed with superheroes pretty much forever, so I know I can’t go wrong with a toy from this aisle. There is a set of large-sized “Marvel guys” (as my kids refer to them) that I know they’d love.
Another thing they love is Legos, and while they aren’t great at keeping the sets put together, they do enjoy building whatever they want with them and playing with the little Lego guys.
Both of my boys love anything miniature-sized, especially my youngest. I ended up getting him this little Cars toy with the “car-chomping” dumptruck since he had pointed it out during one of our many recent Target trips. It comes with a mini Lightning McQueen.
By the way, have you heard about the new Target Cartwheel app? Target describes it as “a sale that follows you around.” It’s pretty amazing. You can add offers from hundreds of available products and then just have the cashier scan the barcode on your smartphone at checkout. You can even use Cartwheel deals on top of coupons, sales and your REDcard discount. Pretty awesome!

I adore Target, and the Cartwheel app! Between the printable coupons, mobile coupons, and Cartwheel, I can see my total drop up to $40!
I have 3 boys, and I struggle every year. Inevitably, someone wants exactly what I got another one, and nobody wanted that other thing. But I refuse to get duplicate gifts – they have to learn to share sometime, right?!
That said, they do all agree on Star Wars (geeks like me!), so pretty much anything SW our of the catalog would be well-received. Of course, I could just call the Death Star Planetarium a “family gift”! LOL
