I have some sad news. Brace yourself – we do not have a mantel. I know, I know. It hurts, but I think I will be okay. (Maybe.) Our fireplace area definitely needs some TLC. This is our bare-faced stone fireplace in its current condition.
Now, that fireplace is pretty URGLY. (That means really ugly.) Luckily the built-ins offer it some saving grace. (Or they will when they receive some moulding and cabinet doors this weekend!)
Bor-ing. It definitely needs a major facelift. Maybe someday I will realize my dreams of finding a really awesome old salvaged mantel to refinish, but for now, this is what we will live with. I’d love to join in the fun of all of the spring mantel link parties happening on other blogs and show off my fun mantel arrangement. I feel like a kid who has to sit out during the kickball game. But, I can still enjoy the beauty that others have to share. And for now, I will live vicariously through them.
And let’s be honest, there is usually something like this (see below) adorning my fireplace which doesn’t do much for the aesthetic. Yes, that is the Riddler clinging for dear life to a pirate eye patch. Can you tell boys live in this house?
Does this count as a Spring Mantel display? |
Today, I will share some beautiful spring mantels that I have come across. I hope you enjoy them. Maybe you can even recreate them. I, on the other hand, can only dream. 🙂
